Elizabeth Alexandra Mary was born at 17 Briton Street, in Mayfair, London, on 21 April 1926. Elizabeth was named after her mother.

The young princesses were educated at home, under the supervision of their mother.

Elizabeth was 13 years old when World War II broke out. Princess E. made her first radio broadcast during the BBC`s Children`s Hour, addressing other children who had been evacuated.

When she was 13 years old, she first met her future husband Prince Philip.

In 1945Princess E. joined the Women`s Auxiliary Territorial Service and was trained as a driver. She was the first and so far only, female member of the royal family to actually serve in the armed forces.

E. married Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh on 20 November 1947. After their wedding Philip and Elizabeth took up residence at Clarence House, London. On 14 November 1948, E. gave birth to her first child, Charles. The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh have 4 children.

E. coronation took place in Westminster Abbey on 2 June 1953.

Life of Queen Elizabeth II is still interested in the world for a very long time.
