  1. ABERDEEN – wander around the Duthie Park, visit the Winter Garden (where you can see exhibition of unusual flowers), Art Gallery, Crathes Castle, St Nicolay Church; take part in Aberdeen International Youth Festival (a main international event in the city holding in summer); have a snack in a local restaurant “Foyer Restaurant and Gallery” with live music and walk along Union Street (where you can do shopping).

  2. INVERNESS – go for a stroll along ancient streets, seafronts and the bridge above river Ness, visit a legendary lake Ness and “Loch Ness Museum”; drop in Inverness Castle (there you can listen to stories about ghosts), St Andrew’s Cathedral, “House of Fraser (on the first ground you may watch a real process of creating kilts); going along Castle Road, look at rabbits, take photos of Three Virtues; watch Tollbooth, Town House; wander around Church Street where some churches are.

  3. EDINBURGH – look at Arthur’s Seat, visit Castle Rock, National Gallery of Scotland, Edinburgh Castle, Holyfoodhouse Palace (an official residence of kings and queens), Royal Botanic Garden; wander along Carton Hill (central part of the city), look at Scott Monument (near the railway station).

  4. NEWCASTLE-UPON-TUNE – visit some picture galleries, theatres like Theatre Royal, museum “the Seven Stories” dedicated to books for children (opened in 2005); walk on Millennium Bridge and drop in St Nicholas Cathedral.

  5. WINDERMERE – here just relax near lakes because they are the main sights, take part in watersport and family attractions.

  6. YORK – visit Roman Wall and the west corner tower of Eboracum, York Castle, the Yorkshire museum; go for a turn along a medieval street “the Shambles”; take part in historic attraction “York Minster”.

  7. MANCHESTER – visit Manchester Town Hall, Wheel of Manchester, Manchester Castle, feel friendly atmosphere in “merry-friendly restaurant”, wander along Canal Street; visit stadium of “Manchester United”.

  8. STRATFORD-UPON-AVON – get a taste of old England, going for a stroll along ancient bystreets; visit Shakespeare’s house, the farm of breeding butterflies, drop in Royal Shakespeare Theatre (Hamlet), take part in some festivals (“the River Festival”, “Stratford Fringe Festival”, “Sunday Bandstand Concerts”).

  9. BRIGHTON - visit a naturist beach first (there are about half a dozen tents set up right on the sand), walk along Queens Road (one of the oldest street in the town); walk around the Royal Pavilion ( a large unusual building); visit jolly well the Brighton Marina where you can see yachts and fishing boats and Brighton Palace Pier (it’s a great place to buy an ice cream here).

  10. BATH – visit the Roman Baths, one of the 5th theatres (e.g. The Egg), Bath Abbey (one of the most beautiful Gothic cathedrals in Britain), Sally Lunn’s (the oldest house in Bath and the home of the famous bun baked by French cook Sally Lunn in the 17 c.); take part in an international music festival; cross Pulteney Bridge and take some photos.

  11. CARDIFF – visit Cardiff Castle, Bishop’s Palace, Welsh Folk Museum, Millennium Stadium (it’s the biggest one in Wales!); walk along the Snowdonia National Park, the Roath Park (here you can see a memorial to Captain Scott); just wander along St David’s (the largest shopping centre in Wales).

  12. LLANDRINDOD WELLS – visit the large man-made lake for fishing, take part in Victorian Festival (or Victorian Week).

  13. BELFAST – beat up the quarters 0f Belfast Castle, St Anne’s Cathedral; see the Ulster Museum (which was reopened in 2009), the Botanic Gardens (where you can see the PalmHouse); wander along Custom House Square with free concerts and street entertainments; visit the River Lagan and Cavehill (a basaltic hill overlooking the city); take a look at “Titanic Belfast” .

  14. LLONDONDERRY – tend out St Columb’s Cathedral, take a turn along Bishops Street Gate, the Foyleside shopping centre or the Richmond Centre, look at Peace Flame Monument and drop in the Millennium Forum (the main theatre in the city).
